I had no idea the old IBM Model M — possibly the greatest keyboard ever made — was available in USB! Just wish they had it in the old gray/tan color, instead of the fairly ugly black-and-gray they’re offering. Why can’t we make keyboards that feel and sound great, and have all the keys in the right place, anymore? I’m looking at you Adesso, who made my current ergo keyboard and put the backslash to the right of the right shift key.

Does a top level domain make a nation?
“One address that hasn’t been retired is “.su” - assigned to the Soviet Union in 1990. It is still operating despite the country no longer existing, and despite the “.ru” TLD assigned to Russia in 1994. There are currently 9648 sites under the domain. And apparently it is getting more popular - this time last year there were only 7206. Add to this the fact that the body operating “.su” has cut prices in response to an ICANN request to freeze new registrations…” I would totally dig a .su domain name!

Levenger Letter Pads

Headings of Topic, Date, File Under and Page make organization easy, and thick cardboard backing keeps the pad rigid when you’re writing.”

Climate Care
“Each time we turn on the TV, switch on the cooker, take a flight or drive the car, CO2 is added into the atmosphere. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that is released when fossil fuels such as oil, gas and coal are burnt. Offsetting means paying someone to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere by the same amount that your activities add. In this way you can ‘neutralise’ or ‘balance’ the CO2 added by your activities.” Another way I can cover the emissions from my flights this year!
CarbonNeutral
“Here you can find out about your environmental impact and how to make aspects of your life CarbonNeutral with our special packages. You can dedicate trees to help support our forestry projects or help fund a climate-friendly project….all will help protect our climate and make gorgeous gifts for any occasion.” One way for me to offset my flights this year!
Valleyschwag

But our real legacy is our schwag—the t-shirts, ballcaps, notepads, stickers, keychains, and other booty blaring the slogans that create new industries (and sometimes landfill, sorry to say). Until now, these world-class collectibles have only been available to the elite few who make it to conventions and insider parties. Now you can have a little piece of the valley without the $3000 rent and two hour commute.”

Is there any reason not to want one of these?
BBEdit 8
For the past 5-6 years, until I switched to the PC, I did as much work as possible in BBEdit. The new version just out looks like it really continues the proud heritage of this product: It Doesn’t Suck. I wish I could buy it now! In fact, I might give them my money just ‘cause I like ‘em.
The Corvette: The Official Car Of Your Dreams
I don’t actually want a Corvette, but this is a cool ad that GM had to pull because of consumer safety group complaints. Wusses.
ESPN 8 Hat

USB Beverage Warmer
Stupid, but clever.
Canon EOS Digital Rebel
An $899 6.2 Megapixel digital SLR using Canon’s proven EOS technology and feature set? Drool! This has put my plans to buy a bargain-basement 35mm SLR body to use with my old EF lenses on hold for the moment.
The Guts of a New Machine
I love my iPod. And this is an iPod retrospective. So, by extension, I must love this article on the iPod.
Motor Trend Names Prius Car Of The Year
I can’t believe I missed this days ago — Motor Trend named the Toyota Prius, one of the few things that fills me with consumer lust, car of the year. Maybe this will finally get my girlfriend to respect this brilliant piece of design work.
£50,000 for 'ultimate boy's toy'
