A Thanksgiving Cornucopia

a dinner table, with full china settings for four, a wine decanter and a salad
Ahh, Thanksgiving, when others cook so that I may overeat massively. There’s no other holiday like it! Of course, everybody does their bit, and, this year, my bit was making green beans and gravy.

This Page Will Someday Not Exist

Today, you can read this entry at “http://wadearmstrong.com”:http://wadearmstrong.com. In a few days (or, if I’m not being so productive, weeks), it’ll be pushed off the front page and into an archive page, when it will be found at an address like “http://wadearmstrong.com/archives/000316.html”:http://wadearmstrong.com/archives/000316.html. Links that went to the first address will start being, well, lies, since the referred content will no longer be there. And what use is that on the internet?

UCLA, On The Eve Of The Big Game

Fast-loading and accessible sites aren’t unattainable goals, they’re best practices. Why is it that the candidates to lead our country are behind the curve on Web design? And, no, “it’s not important” isn’t the answer I’m looking for.

Broiling, Or Something

Usually I cook a tasty and reasonably gourmet meal weekly, so I’d anticipated more entries in this section. Sadly, I’ve been foiled. I moved to a new apartment, and the stove here has been broken for the last month. I’ve been surviving on microwave meals, which are not that exciting to blog about. But today I got tired of nuking my dinner. Today I decided to take a chance. Yes, today I decided to use my toaster oven to broil.

Shopping At Ralph’s

Today, for the first time since the strike began, I shopped at Ralph’s. I wasn’t going to cross the picket line, but the strikers took the pickets away so that people like me could shop at Ralphs’ and drive a wedge between that company and the other Southland grocery stores.
