I had been skeptical of her ability to make good decisions, given her support for the Iraq war, but this really proves that her judgment can’t be trusted. I mean, some things are just obviously bad decisions. And, please, going Canadian at a moment like this? I think you’ll agree with me after you see this embarrassment:

I guess it was too much to hope she’d pick Fugazi’s And the Same

a) The lyrics are, like most Celine Dion, vague and nonsensical.

b) What is comprehensible, is a personally addressed love song. I’m sorry, but having a presidential candidate address me like that is kinda creepy.

c) Have you seen the music video that Celine did for it? It sucks. It interprets the “meant to fly” thing literally, and the whole video is shot around… wait for it… an airport! As Douglas Adams once wrote, there is a reason that no language in human history has come up with the expression, “beautiful as an airport”.

Wasn’t this just a user-voted song contest? Not that that let’s her off the hook… and not that I want any part of defending HC. Don’t you think the Democratic candidate who puts Henry Rollins on the team has the best chance of ditching the “wussy liberal” label? And snagging some war-hero general for VP wouldn’t be a bad start, either.

Personally, I doubt that the users voted for the song from the Air Canada ad campaign. The election was rigged!
