OK, so I’m stressed out and I may have bitten off too much (with predictable consequences). But it’s easy to overlook how much I have to be thankful for. It’s been a good year, and I can’t let the daily distractions (and nips) hide these from me. So what am I thankful for?
- A cuddly bird who loves me
- A nearby Best Buy
- Old friends, available via Instant Messenger
- New friends, from business school
- Family, still in this world
- The act of learning itself
- Cooking
- Eating
- Goat’s milk products
- Tea, especially Sadaf Special Blend and Roastaroma
- Orbit gum
- Lemon pistachios
- Adobe Creative Suite
- iTunes
- Ruckus
- Color-coding in Outlook
- Movable Type
- A cool comforter that makes my bedroom look just right
- New gray hooded sweatshirt
- Photography, and the hope of more photography in the future
- Blogging
- Regular colon
- Hope
- Not living in Phoenix
- Incipient peace and brotherhood in various parts of the world
(Please note that this is a partial list.)
What are you thankful for?
So are you happy with your decision to do an MBA? Or does it take up too much time?
I’m thinking about doing an MBA through an online program like here: Online MBA so I can keep working at the same time. Do you think these programs are a good idea?
That’s a good question, and probably the topic of a future blog. To put it briefly, I’m very happy with my MBA. I think, for a career-switcher or incipient entrepreneur, the full-time program offers the best options if you can afford it at all. A part-time program, with classes at night, is probably the best bet if you can’t afford the full-time choice, or if you plan to stay at your existing job. If you don’t plan to move jobs and really just need those three letters after your name, I’d say an online program would be great, but remember that us full-time students will get many more networking and job placement opportunities than you will, so figure that into your plannning.
