Two years of school and two years of startup haven’t left me with a big clothing budget. I’d like to take what I own rather further than it’s going currently. But, as I contemplate radical things like not getting my dress shirts starched so that I can have one of these “casual” looks, I’m having trouble finding sources for good fashion ideas.
Maybe it’s because I’m going out to all the wrong places, but unless this summer’s fashion lessons are “chino shorts” and “linen shirts,” then I’m missing the message. I’m too busy to spend a bunch of evenings at chic West Hollywood restaurant. It seems like all I have to go by these days is the Sartorialist and he’s not, shall we say, warm-weather oriented. What blogs am I missing here? What should I be wearing? Chic minds want to know.
I just thought of some places…! Take one day off, go early, try Camarillo outlets. Nordstrom Rack in Howard Hughes center.. go see a movie on your day off, and hit the rack. Target. Westside Pavillion is good shopping. Nordstrom is great. Try Macy’s. Call them both first and ask when their next sale is. Good luck and find something sweet.
P.s. You must try H&M at Beverly Center sometime. I’ve never been but… I’ve heard all great things, soo affordable and cute.
… 1/2 glass of peach sake, green tea noodles, 2 pcs ume roll, green tea mochi, and I’m still up… Another light bulb turned on..
Check out the mexican store close to you on Venice blvd, next to
$.98 store and Iranian market. I saw a cute dress in their window for $10. They may have cool summer wear for men? Maybe they’ll have a nice, short sleeved button down mexican shirt with collar and handsome embroidered lines going down it.
Well, as I say in the entry, I’m looking to take what I have further, not spend more money. So, yes, all of those may be good places to shop, but where do I go to get good fashion ideas so that I know what to shop for? I’m not looking for stores at all, but blogs and magazines and people-watching places to give me ideas. I gave one link in the entry and was hoping that folks would have other recommendations. Just by reading the blog at that link I’ve gotten a bunch of ideas of ways I can wear my current clothes without having to buy new clothes. That’s really the trick here. I own some good stuff, I just need to find out more ways to wear it.
So, the floor remains open. Any suggestions? Should I take a trip to a Greenwitch yacht club, maybe?

Oh my! Do you really think they want to know that much about me before our first date?
